Public Transport

I

f you’ve hit this page whilst surfing my website, you’ve probably realised by now that I’m a bit of a fan of the Ka, and indeed of most cars, and of the whole car driving ideal.  So perhaps you’d be expecting me to tell you how awful public transport is, how busses and trains are always late, smell bad, have awful customer service and never get to where you need to go anyway.

But I’m not.

I’ve been forced - sometimes quite literally whining and pouting with Charlie frog-marching me - into using trains and busses.  And whilst the whole experience hasn’t left me wondering why we run Kermit, it has made me realise that for some journeys, there is a better way.

Motorists are caught up in our own world, of course, and I’m almost certainly more guilty than other people of this.  We love to sit in our air conditioned cars, listening to our choice of music, going to where we want to go.  We sneer at people waiting for a bus, especially when it’s raining, or perhaps lean across and lock our doors in case some of the non-car owning population decide they want a piece of ours.

But for some trips, taking the bus or train is easier and cheaper.  No, not all trips, but some.
