longer term readers of this website will know, Charlie and I have certainly
been to Ford Fair before, in both 2002
and 2003. It must rank as one of our favourites simply
because so many people attend, and it’s a great
opportunity
to meet old and new friends alike.
This
year, although we didn’t know if we would be showing, we gave Kermit a good clean anyway. There’s something very relaxing about
spending four hours washing, waxing, re-washing, re-waxing, and finally, waxing
once more. Oh and a good hour on each
front XR2i wheel, too – and even then
they’re still not looking perfect!

Still,
I’m a bit of a perfectionist, and when my fingers were thoroughly green with
the effort, I decided to stop.
Once at
the show, it’s customary to spend another thirty minutes washing the car,
although to be fair if it’s not clean by now it’s arguably too late. Nevertheless, here’s a portrait of the lad
having been freshly washed for the fourth
time in
two days!
I
suppose this is what it might look like if you were about to be run over by
Kermit, or maybe if you decided to lie down in front of the lad and point a
camera in his direction!

Kermy’s
butt shot, showing off the wider rear tyres
and Powerflow exhaust system.

The
above shots are all from the Ka Klub stand, and the following are from other
stands we visited.

In
conclusion, yeah it was a good show.
Was it worth getting up at three o’clock? Well, arguably, few things are worth getting up at three... but
this one comes close!
