Ford Fair 2003

T

he Ford Fair is one of the events to go to if you’re at all interested in Fords.  This year, the event was held at Silverstone, which means a large, open area of land, plenty of paddock space, and a long queue to get in.  Still, this queue is a great way to ensure that at least a dozen Sierra Cosworths and Escort RS Turbos don’t make it into the show because they overheat whilst waiting.

But before some of the Ka Klub could make it to Ford Fair, we had to survive a bout of Kamping first!

I only hope that we are not refused entry the next time we use Billing Aerodrome!

Last year, for Ford Fair 2002, Kermit did the trip on the day and we weren’t showing him.  This year, I took the lad down the day before for a spot of Kamping, and Charlie was given a lift by Bob.

Unfortunately, since the John O’Groats to Lands End trip, I’ve barely been at home long enough to eat and sleep, let alone to give the lad a proper klean.  Okay, so he had two washes during the week before the event, and then one on the Saturday and another on the Sunday, but he was far from perfect.

However, owing to a bet Charlie made at Interford 2003 involving Dervy collecting JOGLE sponsorship from the crowd, she did get to wash Kermit.  One down, three more Kas to go, heh darling?!

By nine thirty in the morning, it was already baking hot, but it was certainly going to get worse!

I was once again asked to judge the Ford Sierra Owners Club Stand, so I borrowed some in-Klub experts to help me out with this!  Handily, the Sierra Owners Club Stand was right opposite our own, so it was difficult for me to get lost between our stand and theirs!

The 100,000 Miler Ka

During the weekend, the Scottish Representative’s Ka celebrated it’s 100,000 mile anniversary.

Now Bob’s Ka is a regular at many meets, and like the driver, is helped there with the aid of Red Bull! J

Note: given that we were queuing to get in for two hours, a little bit of donk kooling is always welcome!

We stopped just off the M1 in konvoy to take a few pictures.

And to celebrate with some chocolate cake!
