Coolant Temperature

A

s part and parcel of KITS2: TASP, Kermit was going to be benefiting from a coolant temperature sensor at some stage in the future.  However, since KITS2 has been shelved and we’ve acquired an OBD-II Scanner, so too is the need for a coolant temperature sensor.

Nevertheless, this sensor is either going to take the form of drilled and tapped thermostat, or a sensor probe inserted into the coolant line (probably the coolant hose leading from the thermostat).

Although I’m not concerned that the Ka’s cooling system is inefficient – quite the reverse, actually – I was interested in the behaviour of the system.

You can read more about the Ka’s cooling system here.
