The Ka Klub

Christmas Party 2004

T

he Ka Klub Christmas Party Meet is a traditional Klub event.  We do it every year, up in Carlisle, but I think that everybody who attended will agree that this one is the best one yet.  Last year was fun!

The Party was organised by Ian and Ange, even despite Ian’s defection from the Ka to the Puma.  We’ll let him off the defection since the Racing Puma does look mighty fine, it’s just a pity Ford don’t offer a diesel version.  Or indeed, make it any more.

After meeting the Klub up at MacDonalds on the Saturday, the Konvoy went off into the hills (and snow) for a hoon.  Given that there were fourteen cars in the Konvoy, we were spread out over quite some distance, and despite some dodgy driving conditions and some “excitement,” we didn’t have any major incidents.  However, driving conditions were getting a little bit treacherous, witnessed by Kermit’s tyres becoming increasingly nervous, and even one ABS moment whilst descending a reasonably steep gradient.

We scooted up to Hartside Pass, as you can see from one of the pictures above, except this time we went up the opposite way to last year, just to be different. J

Saturday night, and we went to the party, enjoying a splendid buffet meal, cheap drinks, good company, and a few brainy individuals winning most of the quizzes (thanks to Ian and Ange for finding some really obscure questions!).

When Saturday night’s party concluded, at some point on the Sunday morning, most of us went on to get some sleep.  At lunchtime, we met up once more, this time at another MacDonalds, for yet another hoon into the hills.

It was at this point that Charlie and I headed off south back to York, regrettably we both had to be up early the next morning to go to work.  Pah!

But a hearty congratulations to Ian and Ange for a top meet!
